Mortgage Originator- Remote
Virtual Vocations Inc
Responsible for underwriting mortgage loans, the full-time remote Alabama Licensed Mortgage Underwriter will assess loan acceptability according to investor guidelines and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations while addressing post-closing issues.
Key responsibilities:
Underwrite conventional residential mortgage loans through AUS and manual processes in line with product and investor guidelines
Ensure compliance with investor requirements and federal/state laws while performing risk assessments of credit and collateral
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to expedite loan decisions and closings, while staying updated on underwriting practices and guidelines
Required qualifications:
Associate's degree or 2 years of relevant experience
Minimum of three years of mortgage processing or underwriting experience
Comprehensive understanding of investor guidelines and ability to interpret AUS findings (DU and LP)
Experience in resolving post-closing issues related to loan saleability
Knowledge of federal registration requirements under the SAFE Act
