Description:
First-time travelers are welcome.
Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4.
Candidates must be comfortable with the expectation to stay at the facility during emergency events.
The unit cares for patients with hematology, medical oncology, and surgical oncology needs, including bone marrow transplant.
The unit has a 7-bed positive pressure wing for bone marrow transplant and acute leukemia patients.
Candidates should have experience with bedside central venous catheter placements and bone marrow biopsies.
Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps with Epic integration, barcode medication administration, and SCD machines.
Special procedures involve chemotherapy infusion and management of patients undergoing bone marrow transplant.
Nurses are expected to float within the unit.
Weekend coverage every other weekend is required.
Management of chemotherapy, administration of blood products, and patient care for various oncology diagnoses are essential responsibilities.
Candidates should be capable of managing isolation precautions and are required to have experience in med/surg nursing.
References are not required for submission, but managerial references will be required prior to contract commencement.
Modules will be completed during orientation and are billable.
Software: Experience with Epic is preferred.
