With CCTV cameras, pre-built vehicles, and software for pipeline inspection and rehabilitation, we improve the safety and reliability of our water infrastructure systems.Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Machine Shop Manager, the Machinist produces machined parts by loading, unloading, setting, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine or manual machines. As the Machinist you will perform visual and measurement inspections for in-process and finish production parts. Machinist will be expected to maintain quality and safety standard, keep accurate records, and maintain equipment and supplies.Technical Operations: Produce parts according to production schedules and direction from the Lead person. Load raw materials and workpieces into machines safely and accurately. Maintain equipment by performing daily and weekly preventive maintenance, troubleshooting minor issues, and reporting repair needs as required. Follow work instructions, blueprints, material specifications, and surface location requirements to ensure accurate production. Demonstrate the ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards.Quality Assurance: Document inspection results accurately and maintain quality reports and inspection logs. Inspect production parts using visual checks and precision measurement tools to ensure compliance with quality standards. Verify machine settings by measuring first-piece and sample parts to ensure they meet quality standards. Maintain quality standards by monitoring machining operations, measuring parts, troubleshooting issues, adjusting machine controls, replacing worn tools, and following established QA procedures.Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment by following all company safety procedures, policies, and regulations. Safely operate machine tools, fixtures, attachments, collets, bushings, stops, stock pushers, and indicating vises as trained and directed by the Lead person.Maintain continuity between work shifts by documenting production activities, communicating irregularities, and identifying ongoing operational needs. Accurately complete production records, inspection reports, and quality logs. Communicate inspection results to the production team and notify supervisors of required adjustments, corrective actions, or rework needs.Training and Development: Expand job knowledge by participating in training, educational programs, and skill development opportunities. Required Experience Minimum 5 years' Machine Shop Experience. Experience operating CNC and manual mills and lathes. Basic computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Journeyman Machinist experience preferred. Ability to create or edit G and M code programs. Experience with process improvement and troubleshooting.Education & Certifications High School diploma or equivalent required.Working Environment, Schedule and Travel Normal work hours, Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Must be flexible to work overtime as required Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
