Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a setting that exemplifies best practices and outstanding customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory agency standards. Acute care departments include Medical Units, Surgery Units, Emergency Departments, Intensive Care, Childbirth Center, Pediatric Unit, Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Lab.
Essential Responsibilities:
Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
Apply new knowledge from ongoing education to promote cost-saving and enhance patient care.
Make patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs.
Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills with patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
Communicate clearly to manage expectations and provide timely responses to patient needs.
Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.
Prioritize patient and workplace safety by adhering to Just Culture principles, HIPAA, and national safety standards.
Engage in professional growth through leadership opportunities, certifications, advanced degrees, and shared governance.
Foster teamwork by motivating and guiding colleagues, encouraging cooperation, and providing mentoring and feedback.
Education and Experience:
Graduate of an accredited nursing school or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in accelerated MSN programs accepted.
Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications required and maintained upon hire.
Licensure:
~ Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.

This position offers a day shift schedule with 40 hours per week in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
