Evening & Overnight Loss Prevention Investigator

About Your Role As an FD Market Investigator at Family Dollar’s corporate office, you’ll confirm that the market’s store operations and daily functions comply with Company programs and policies. You’ll also monitor and measure store process performance in the categories: Office/Cash Sales, Loss Prevention, Physical Security, Safety, and Personnel Training and Development.
Store Performance & Loss Prevention Oversight Conduct monthly store loss‑prevention audits, score store performance based on specific criteria, and report findings to Store Manager, Field Manager and Corporate Management.
Plan and facilitate storewide meetings to review procedures and policies with Asset Protection Specialists, store team members and store managers.
Use exception reporting (XBR & SAER) and partner with Corporate Sales Audit to monitor District Cash and Sales losses and investigate cash or inventory loss trends.
Monitor and manage the District’s Target Program and weekly exception reporting to improve inventory results.
Conduct in‑store surveillances using Loss Prevention tools (I‑Verify and DVR) to identify and address internal integrity issues, safety concerns, fines, lost sales and other risks.
Conduct Loss Prevention Quality Store Visits (LPQSV) including honesty conversations with store team members.
Assist with special projects that impact the market, such as the Target Program and Shrink Impact Studies.
Training, Compliance & Equipment Management Train Store Managers on Family Dollar procedures and compliance, including Cash Management, Loss Prevention, Physical Security, Safety, Robbery Prevention, Product Freshness, and Display Compliance. Assist managers in training their team members on these areas.
Ensure that store asset protection equipment (CCTV, Interactive CCTV, Exit Alarms, Burglar Alarms, Safes, Drop Boxes, and checkpoints) is in good working order and utilized effectively.
Follow and enforce the implementation of all Company policies and procedures.
Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience High school diploma or equivalent; Ability to read, interpret and explain operational directives and policies.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access).
Ability to work a flexible, full‑time schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Ability to travel locally and overnight as needed.
Field experience in local markets and/or loss prevention.
