Bookkeeper / Accounting SpecialistWe are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to join the administrative team of a well-established private country club and golf course in Fresno. This is a hands-on accounting position responsible for managing the club's day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, membership payments, bank reconciliations, collections, and financial recordkeeping. The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of well-rounded bookkeeping or accounting experience and is comfortable independently managing both A/P and A/R functions in a busy professional environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable & Vendor ManagementProcess vendor invoices and prepare payments accurately and on scheduleMaintain vendor records and research invoice or payment discrepanciesReview invoices and expenses associated with facility improvements, repairs, maintenance, and club projectsVerify appropriate documentation and approvals prior to paymentMaintain accurate A/P records and supporting documentationAccounts Receivable & Membership AccountingReceive and accurately apply membership payments to member accountsMaintain accurate member account balances and payment recordsResearch and resolve payment discrepanciesMonitor past-due accounts and communicate professionally with members regarding outstanding balancesMake collection calls and follow up on delinquent membership accountsMaintain appropriate documentation of collection activity and payment arrangementsBanking & General AccountingPerform daily bank and deposit reconciliationsReconcile deposits against accounting records and identify discrepanciesMaintain accurate financial records and general ledger informationAssist with month-end accounting and financial reportingReview transactions for accuracy and proper codingSupport the overall financial management and accounting needs of the clubMaintain organized financial documentation and confidential member informationQualificationsMinimum 4 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience requiredStrong hands-on experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts ReceivableStrong experience performing bank reconciliations and deposit reconciliationsExperience managing vendor payments and resolving account discrepanciesComfortable contacting customers or members regarding past-due balances and collectionsStrong attention to detail and ability to identify financial discrepanciesAbility to manage multiple accounting responsibilities independentlyProficient with accounting software and Microsoft ExcelStrong written and verbal communication skillsProfessional demeanor and discretion when handling confidential financial and membership informationExperience working within a country club, golf course, hospitality organization, membership-based business, property management company, or similar environment is a plus, but not required.
