Part Time Podiatrist

Reports To: Chief Clinical Officer and Chief Nursing/Operating Officer
Position Status: Part-Time
In collaboration with the entire medical staff, the Podiatrist will provide primary podiatric care to outpatient clients. He/she will be instrumental in providing health education, prevention, and early detection; under the guidance of the Chief Clinical Officer and Chief Nursing/Operating Officer.
Diagnose disorders of the feet and ankles such as bunions, calluses, corns, fungal infection of the skin or nails, ankle pronation, gait abnormalities, heel spurs, arch deformities and ingrown toenails
Diabetic foot care such as nail trims, callus removal, peripheral neuropathy testing, skin ulcer treatment and amputation.
Make foot casts for custom orthotics
Consult with patients about preventative foot care
Refer patients to other medical specialists if symptoms suggest severe illnesses such as diabetes, heart or kidney disease

Experience in Primary Care and clinical management of persons with HIV/AIDS and experience in harm reduction principles is preferred
Visual acuity and manual dexterity to interface with the computer and perform medical procedures as indicated
Auditory acuity to handle phone calls and interact extensively with patients
Maintains current DEA registration
Maintains current Infection Control certification
Travel Required
