Typist, Full-Time

Founded in 1865, Lawrence Hall is a non-profit, community-based human services organisation dedicated to helping children, youth, and families heal from the effects of trauma. The successful candidate will play a vital role in our mission by accurately converting audio and video records into written documents, supporting our foster care, mental health, and special education programmes. This is a full-time position based in San Diego, California, United States . The offered compensation is between $19 and $24 per hour , depending on experience and qualifications. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional listening and typing skills, a keen eye for detail, and a strong commitment to handling sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.

Accurately transcribe a variety of audio and video content, including interviews, clinical notes, meetings, and case discussions.

• Review and edit transcriptions to ensure they are free of errors in grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
• Format transcribed documents according to established organisational templates and standards.
• Manage and organise digital files of recordings and transcribed documents for secure storage and easy retrieval.
• Collaborate effectively with staff from various departments to ensure the timely delivery of transcription projects.
• Excellent command of the English language, with outstanding spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills.
• A fast and accurate typing speed.
• Proficiency in using transcription software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
