Emergency Room (ER) RN - Weekend Nights

Registered Nurse – Emergency Department Holding Unit

Contract | Nights | 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Weekdays with every other weekend required | Onsite
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in an ED Holding Unit at a 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
Perform IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including accessing ports, blood product administration, peripheral line care and management, and starting IVs
Administer and manage medications including heparin protocols and cardiac drips (no titration)
Monitor and care for patients with neurological and psychiatric conditions including CVA, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal
Manage respiratory support including external CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), oxygen face masks, and non-invasive airway management
Float to the Emergency Department as needed; document all care using CERNER electronic health record system
Required Qualifications

Active WV or Compact RN License (pending license accepted for submission; active license must be in hand prior to start)
Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of in-specialty experience required
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (must be through the American Heart Association)
CPI certification required (must be scheduled and obtained more than 1 week before start date)
CERNER experience required
Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates between 75–100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
Preferred Experience / Skills

Experience in Med/Surg Telemetry and/or ER Holding preferred
Experience with care of ventilated patients and tracheostomy management preferred
First-time travelers with appropriate specialty experience are welcome to apply
