Fabrication Machinist- Second Shift

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Hone and Lap Machinist A - 2nd Shift. The hourly rate for this position is $37.26 plus $2/hr shift differential per hour. Eaton Aerospace Group located in Los Angeles, CA (near Glendale metro) has an opening for a Machinist A. The LA facility has approximately 300 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.
Set up complex parts and operate manual and CNC machines without supervision.
Honing, lapping, and grinding parts
Inspect parts for quality and appropriate tolerance using the appropriate measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, air gages and comparators.
Finish all parts with different materials to close tolerance without supervision.
Meet production and quality requirements at all times, always keep work area clean.
Modify machining feed and speeds on multiple material types and select tooling, gauges as/if required.
Use measuring tools, air gauges, micrometers and other inspection tools to verify part quality.
Replace worn tools, inspect parts and adjust tool offsets as needed.
Drive for continuous process improvements

High School Diploma required from an accredited institution

• Minimum 7 years experience in machining, honing, or lapping parts in a manufacturing environment.
• This position requires access to export-controlled information. S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Aerospace experience preferred.
• 8 plus years experience in machining, honing or lapping parts in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with computer based methods and tools.
• Familiarity /experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement and Six Sigma methodology.

Experienced with multiple machine tools, production methods and shop practices preferred.

• Ability to learn equipment and processes for fabrication of aerospace parts, produce parts in accordance with the production plans, sketches and/or verbal instructions.
• Ability to maintain close tolerance dimensions on critical parts.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, manufacturing routings, procedures, and routers.
• Ability to produce and inspect critical parts with tight tolerances and finishes, with minimal supervision.
• Ability to logically solve problems and to keep assignments and projects moving in an orderly and structured fashion.
