Head of Project Management (Construction)

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Project Manager for our Columbia, MD office. Be involved in projects with our Program Management Team at Charles County and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

The ideal candidate will be an engineer with at least 7-10 years of experience in project management, planning, design, and construction management for roadway projects.

Managed design consultants and construction contractor’s projects for Roadway projects.

Coordinate Project designers and construction managers activities.

Manage capital improvement projects including project schedule, budget, and deliverables.

Provide technical presentations to project teams and other stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree in civil or transportation engineering or relevant field

7-10 years roadway design and construction management experience

Familiarity with the practices and principles of Design and Construction

Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Experience in performing and reviewing various traffic engineering analysis including traffic impact studies, traffic signal warrant studies, and reviewing traffic engineering design plans.

Proficient knowledge of street and sidewalk engineering, design, and construction principles and practices.

Expert knowledge on the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), Highway Safety Manual, and/or other traffic engineering related safety policy, standards, or guidelines

Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate both countywide programs and specific projects.

Data and information systems management experience

Experience in a web-based document management system such as e‑Builder, Unifier and CM‑14

Ability to support scheduling for a program of multiple projects, including monitoring costs.
