CNC Production Machinist (Second Shift)

This position is ideal for motivated machinists who take pride in precision work, problem-solving, and maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Position SummaryThe CNC Mill and Lathe Setup/Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC machining centers and lathes to produce precision parts that meet customer and quality specifications. Candidates must have strong setup experience and the ability to modify CNC programs as needed to improve efficiency and maintain quality standards.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC mills and lathes for production runsRead and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructionsModify CNC programs and offsets as requiredSelect and install tooling, fixtures, and machine attachmentsPerform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checksUse precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and indicatorsMonitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain tolerancesTroubleshoot machining and tooling issuesMaintain production and quality documentationFollow all safety procedures and company policiesWork collaboratively with supervisors, programmers, and quality personnelQualificationsMinimum of 2–5 years CNC setup and operating experience preferredStrong setup skills on CNC mills and/or lathesAbility to modify and edit CNC programsExperience with G-code and blueprint readingKnowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining practicesAbility to hold tight tolerances and perform precision measurementsStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsReliable attendance and strong work ethicAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionExperience with Fanuc or similar CNC controlsMulti-axis machining experiencePrior experience in a production machining environmentAbility to stand for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds occasionallyFrequent bending, reaching, and movement throughout the shiftSchedule & Wages2nd ShiftWages: $25-$30 an hour based on experience +$1.00/hour shift differentialCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive wages$1.00/hour shift premiumMedical coverage401(k) with Company MatchPaid holidays and vacationStable, growing work environmentOpportunities for advancement
