Position Summary

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of assigned campus facilities. This position performs a variety of custodial duties to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for the entire University community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, wax, and buff floors, hallways, and stairways.

Vacuum and shampoo carpets and rugs.

Dust and clean furniture, walls, ceilings, windows, and other building surfaces.

Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms and other common areas.

Collect and dispose of trash and transport recyclable materials.

Move furniture as needed for cleaning and event support.

Observe and follow all safety and security procedures.

Identify and report maintenance concerns.

Perform special cleaning projects and other duties as assigned.

Note: Work schedules may vary and can include swing shift, graveyard shift, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Required

Valid Montana Driver's License.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to read and understand chemical labels and safety information.

Ability to perform basic math for measuring and mixing cleaning solutions.

Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment, including vacuums, floor buffers, and floor waxers.

Ability to perform physical work involving standing, bending, lifting, and operating equipment.

Experience and Education

No previous custodial experience is required. No minimum education requirement applies. We
