Full Time Maintenance / Some janitor shifts

CustodianThe Custodian performs custodial maintenance and cleaning within the building and light grounds keeping on the building property.Job QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma or GED preferredAble to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs repetitivelyAble to walk, stand, crouch, and climb to use ladders or perform various types of manual laborMust have sufficient strength and manual dexterity to perform assigned tasks including but not limited to operating equipment used to clean floors and carpetsKnowledgeCommunicates effectively and promotes good public relations with all stakeholdersWorks with peers/supervisors in a considerate and cooperative manner and assists others when neededAbility to operate various equipment used for cleaning floors and carpetsMust be able to understand and follow directions both written and verbalAbility to learn routine custodial dutiesDuties and Responsibilities1. Attends work every day on time and performs all duties as assigned effectively and efficiently2. Exhibits a professional attitude and demeanor at all times in working with School Board members, school administrators, fellow employees, parents, students, and the public3. Performs daily routine cleaning necessary to keep the facility and grounds in safe and acceptable condition4. Cleans light fixtures, windows, walls, furniture, blinds, etc.5. Utilizes various equipment for scrubbing, vacuuming, buffing, and waxing floors6. Cleans, disinfects, and restocks restrooms7. Prepares for and cleans up after events scheduled for the facility/grounds during the day and/or at night8. Monitors use, storage, and inventory of supplies and reports needs to Custodial Manager9. Makes recommendations pertaining to maintenance and facility's needs10. Assists the building principal/supervisor in general security of building and general fire safety11. Performs emergency cleaning as necessary12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisorSecurity Clearance: The Glynn County School System requires a criminal background check and fingerprinting on all new employees, including all substitutes and other designated employees.Workdays: 261Compensation Range: $28,180-$38,607 (Salary Based on Full Time)Salary is commensurate with experience and shift.
