Description The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a vital role in supporting a positive patient experience and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. Serving as a key member of the clinical team, the CMA helps patients feel welcomed and supported throughout their visit while assisting providers in providing efficient and effective care. Through patient intake, clinical support, care coordination, and communication, the CMA helps ensure that patient needs are addressed and care is delivered in a safe and timely manner. This position contributes to positive patient outcomes, continuity of care, and the overall success of the practice through a commitment to professionalism, compassion, and service excellence.
Prepare office notes/templates for upcoming patient appointments.
Accurately measure and document vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, respirations, height, and weight, in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Conduct a brief review of interim health history relevant to the provider’s examination.
Notify the provider of any significant health changes, hospitalizations, or urgent concerns.
Retrieve and organize necessary reports, hospital records, or other documentation to support comprehensive patient care.
Assists patients in completing required forms, such as health questionnaires and medical histories, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Provide assistance to providers during examinations and procedures as needed.
Answer telephone calls and assist with patient inquiries within the scope of knowledge and practice guidelines.
Monitor inventory levels, order, and restock clinical supplies to ensure seamless operations.
Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked examination rooms.
Perform additional tasks or services as directed by the provider or administrator to support the team and ensure high-quality patient care.
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

The base pay range for this position is $18.71 - $21.52 Hourly. Winchester Cardiology offers a comprehensive benefits package, available upon eligibility, including:

Current Medical Assistant certification in the state of Virginia.
Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
Excellent customer service and patient relations skills.
At least one year of medical assistant experience working in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting.
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems.
Ability to use a computer and standard office equipment for extended periods, up to 8 hours per day
Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday
