HR Generalist - Employee Relations & Engagement

Human Resources Generalist Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Engagement - Coordinate meetings, plan employee events, support internal communications, and serve as a friendly, reliable resource for day‑to‑day employee questions.

Benefits Administration - Assist employees with benefit enrollment, manage annual open enrollment, process benefit changes, track rate increases, and ensure accurate deductions.

Workers’ Compensation Management - Handle claims, documentation, and communication with employees and carriers to ensure timely and compliant case resolution.

HRIS & Data Administration - Maintain employee data, perform accurate data entry, and serve as the go‑to expert for navigating the HRIS system.

Policies & Procedures - Help employees understand policies, ensure consistent application, and support HR leadership with documentation and compliance needs.

Human Resources Generalist Education & Skills

Bachelor’s degree

3+ years in human resources

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Tech‑savvy with the ability to learn systems quickly; Paychex experience is a plus

Ability to build relationships, stay organized, and handle confidential information with professionalism

A positive, solutions‑focused mindset and a desire to make HR approachable and effective

Salary: $65,000-$75,000
Location: Portage, MI
