Level 4 RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor & Delivery

Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3 years in OB, L&D, and/or Postpartum License: Current licensure by State Board of Nursing Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE Must-Have: Active unencumbered RN license

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. A professional caregiver who plans, provides, and directs patient care and teaching. Utilizes the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders. Acts as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families. Collaborates with other healthcare members. May participate in health center and department committees. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age groups. Participates in establishing a collaborative plan of care based on assessment data. Communicates the plan of care as appropriate. Implements and evaluates the plan of care based on identified patient goals. Modifies the plan of care based on reassessment of the patient's status. Actively participates in nursing department or unit-based initiatives. Provides age-appropriate care for the specific population served.
