The Observation Unit at Deaconess Midtown is a 23-bed unit with remote telemetry capabilities, dedicated to providing high-quality, short-term care for patients who require further evaluation, treatment and diagnosis. Our clinical team members are NIH Stroke Scale certified and have the opportunity to care for a wide variety of patient conditions. Our unit is an excellent environment to strengthen critical thinking, clinical judgement, and time management skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Daily multidisciplinary rounds with Case Management, Social Work, Physicians and therapy ensure a collaborative approach to patient care. Observation nurses play a vital role in patient and family communication, helping coordinate results and plan next steps alongside the Deaconess care team.
