CNC Machinist - Growth Opportunity

Machinist Job Description The machinist role requires previous gearing experience as well as expertise with Fanuc or Okuma machining systems. Candidates with CNC machinist experience in lathes or mills are encouraged to apply. The position involves setting up and operating machines to produce, repair, or refine products according to detailed specifications.

Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions, setting up and adjusting machines as necessary.

Start machines and turn handwheels or valves to engage feeding, cooling, and lubricating mechanisms.

Position, adjust, and secure stock material or workpieces against stops, on arbors, or in chucks, fixtures, or automatic feeding mechanisms, manually or using hoists.

Make adjustments to machines to compensate for tool wear and material compositions (speeds and feeds).

Remove and replace dull cutting tools.

Inspect workpieces for defects and measure workpieces to determine the accuracy of machine operation using a variety of measuring instruments.

Perform minor machine maintenance, such as oiling or cleaning machines, dies, or workpieces, or adding coolant to machine reservoirs.

Perform First Article Inspection and In Process inspection on parts to verify that they meet engineering specifications.

Document time in the MES system accurately.

Keep working area clean and organized, maintaining housekeeping to a high standard.

Deburr, stamp, clean, and package parts according to specifications.

One to two years of work-related experience and/or training, and six months of Eskridge machining experience.

High School diploma or GED.

Ability to conduct tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

Basic knowledge of blueprint reading, including a general understanding of terms and the operation of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance.

Work Environment Machine shop environment in Olathe, KS. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm, with potential overtime on Saturdays.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Olathe, KS.
