Senior Structural Engineer
We have partnered with a large engineering services company in the Metro DC area to provide them with a Senior Structural Engineer. Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Senior Structural Engineer:

  • S. degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) required.
  • 10 to 15 years of structural engineering experience.
  • Experience leading project teams and client-facing consulting
  • Consulting engineering / AEC background

Responsibilities of the Senior Structural Engineer:

Ability to perform the following functions: structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of commercial & industrial projects
Design of steel, concrete, and masonry commercial/institutional, federal and Industrial buildings, both in new and existing construction.
Manage project team for budget and schedule control
Collaborate with the architect, owner, and contractor to provide a well-coordinated and high-quality set of structural drawings.
Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint software preferred. Must understand database concepts. Working knowledge of marketing databases and proposal resources files.
Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.
Ability to travel
Work closely with other offices, such as Raleigh, Atlanta structural groups to complete projects and tasks.
Requirements of the Senior Structural Engineer:

  • S. degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program required.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE).
  • 10 to 15 years of structural engineering experience.
  • Experience with computer software programs and analysis systems (such as RISA, AutoCAD, Revit, RamSS, Etabs, Enercalc, etc.).
  • Project Management experience and/or certifications
  • Desire to lead inter-disciplinary projects and project teams
  • Local AHJ experience and relationships is a plus
  • Active local industry involvement is a plus

Must be able to work in the office four (4) days a week
Willingness to travel for occasional site visits
