About the Position
TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified IMC RN in Louisville, Kentucky, 40201!
Key Responsibilities

Provide nursing care on a 16-bed mixed acuity ortho trauma unit serving post-surgical, trauma, and elective surgery patients at a 1:5 RN-to-patient ratio
Manage complex wound care including wound vac management, JP drains, CT drains, and wound dressings; perform blood administration and support skeletal and Buck's traction
Administer and monitor Heparin drips, insulin drips, high-flow oxygen therapy, and stable BiPAP as needed
Utilize Cerner EMR, Plum ICU Medical IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors; may operate kangaroo pump and sapphire PCA pump
Collaborate with CNAs, vascular access team, respiratory therapy (24/7), hospitalists, intensivists, and remote telemetry monitoring to deliver coordinated patient care
May be responsible for lab collections depending on phlebotomy staffing availability; float to mixed acuity units only as needed
Required Qualifications

Active RN license valid in Kentucky
BLS certification required
NIHSS certification required
Minimum 2 years of recent STAC (stepdown, telemetry, or higher acuity care) experience required
Must have experience in stepdown, telemetry, or documented experience taking patients at a higher level of care than standard Med/Surg
Must be comfortable functioning at a Med/Surg to Stepdown level of care in a mixed acuity environment
Preferred Experience / Skills

• 3 years of STAC experience preferred
• Prior experience with trauma or post-surgical patient populations (e.g., MVA, GSW, amputations, Whipple procedures, cholecystectomies)
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
• Previous travel nursing experience (first-time travelers are not accepted for this role)
