Job Description We are looking for an HR Coordinator to join a Contract assignment based in Oakland, California. This onsite role supports benefits and leave administration while helping maintain smooth daily office and HR operations in a busy environment. The position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, attentive to detail, and comfortable working across HR, Payroll, and Accounting teams.

Responsibilities:

• Manage employee leave cases by entering, updating, and extending records accurately within HR systems.
• Guide employees through upcoming leave events by explaining available time-off options and income replacement programs under company guidelines and California regulations.
• Prepare and complete required California leave and disability documentation for employees beginning approved absences.
• Review and reconcile missed benefit premium deductions related to new hires, qualifying life events, and returns from leave.
• Assign coding to benefits-related invoices and forward documentation to Accounting for timely processing.
• Coordinate closely with internal partners across Human Resources, Payroll, and Accounting to resolve benefits and leave questions.
• Provide broad administrative support, including scheduling, calendar coordination, and general office assistance as needed.
• Help maintain an organized, efficient workplace by supporting day-to-day operational and administrative activities.• Previous experience administering employee leaves of absence is required.
• Knowledge of California leave programs and related documentation processes is strongly preferred.
• Exposure to multi-state leave management is an advantage.
• Experience working with a third-party leave administrator is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information.
• Basic analytical ability, including comfort with simple calculations and reviewing payroll or benefits-related data.
• Working knowledge of Excel, including sorting, filtering, and updating spreadsheets.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
