Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Unit Information

Location: Dallas, TX

Unit Type: Oncology ICU

Number of Beds: 10

Staffing: Day Shift includes 1 charge nurse and RNs based on census; Night Shift same as Day Shift

Patient Care

Patient Ratios: 2:1

Typical Procedures Performed:

Care of critically ill patients

Total patient care including turning, titrating drips, dressing changes, and tracheostomy care

Equipment Used

Ventilators

Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)

Arterial Lines (A-line)

Bipap Machines

Flow-track Monitors

IV Pumps

Electronic Medical Record

EMR System: Meditech

Qualifications

Required Skills:

Strong ICU experience

Ability to titrate drips

Experience with patients on ventilators and Bipap

Preferred Skills:

CRRT experience

Transplant experience (Kidney, Pancreas, Liver)

Best Personality Fit

The ideal candidate should be compassionate, capable of working collaboratively with others, and skilled at maintaining a strong rapport with physicians.

Floating Areas

All ICUs, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)

Dress Code

Scrub Color: Blue scrubs

Unit Guidelines

Report time: 6:45 AM / 6:45 PM; clock in/out for lunch; responsible for total care of critically ill patients. Rotating weekends may be required.
