Coordinates patient transport activities in the facility as well as at the entrances. Performs equipment distribution functions and inventory management for clinical equipment in clinical areas. Delivers a high level of customer service and ensures the satisfaction of patients and staff and participants in providing and maintaining accurate information and inventory levels.**Job Duties*** Transports patients in a safe and timely manner as directed by medical professional staff and established policies and procedures.* Completes all training requirements and attends in-service education and scheduled departmental staff meetings for transportation planning and initiatives.* Supports patient throughput and hospital capacity initiatives by using transport software, to facilitate timely patient transports.* Obtains transport equipment for transport.* Receives and documents patient transportation assignments.* Performs equipment functions such as receiving, counting, stocking, transporting, cleaning and sanitizing medical equipment.* Minimum Qualifications*** High School Diploma/GED* Ability to demonstrate the importance of and ability to provide a high level of customer service.* Ability to display a compassionate, positive, and upbeat disposition in interactions with customers/patients.* BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association within 180 Days**Physical Demands**Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. \\*Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.Lehigh Valley Health Network is an equal opportunity employer.
