Registered Nurse (RN) - NICU/NurseryWe are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our NICU/Nursery Unit. This position involves caring for infants in a Level II NICU environment, as well as postpartum mothers and well babies. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary certifications and experience to thrive in a dynamic clinical setting.Unit InformationNICU Level: Level IITotal Beds: 6 designed beds, 2 transition beds (capacity can overflow to 8 with staffing)Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:2 or 1:3 based on AWHONN acuity standardsPostpartum and Well Baby Ratios: Typically 1:3Required CertificationsBLS (Basic Life Support)STABLE CertificationNRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)Common Diagnoses/Types of PatientsTransient Tachypnea of Newborn (TTN)Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS)Feeder GrocersHyperbilirubinemiaHypoglycemiaExperience and SkillsExperience with the following is required:Caring for postpartum mothers and their infants as couplet assignments (up to a 1:3 ratio)Ability to attend deliveries as neededKnowledge of general fluids management, with limited necessity to titrate dripsShift InformationSchedule: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM, block schedulingWeekend Requirements: Approximately 4 shifts every 6 weeks, with additional shifts for those who opt inHoliday Requirements: Yes, as per scheduling needsCall and Floating RequirementsMandatory call and standby requirements, with rotating assignments among staff. Staff may be required to float to other departments as needed.Dress CodeProfessional colors are required.Orientation and TrainingUnit-specific orientation will be provided, including necessary training as per travel agency contract. Expect to complete 1-2 shifts of orientation.Cancellation PolicyThe facility may cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment and three shifts for assignments that are shorter in duration.Charting SystemEPIC is the electronic charting system utilized.QualificationsMust have an active nursing license in the state of practiceExperience in a Level II NICU or similar clinical environment is preferredJoin our dedicated team and make a positive impact on the lives of our patients and their families!
