Managing Head of Retail Sales

Assist in driving top line sales, including supervising, coaching, and direction of the sales staff.
Contribute to the sales floor by actively engaging in the sales process with our customers, providing an excellent experience for each customer in store while also exemplifying our Shane Co. sales tools.
Working closely, collaboratively, and transparently with the rest of the store management team.
Ensuring partnership with the Store Visual Merchandiser to understand and educate team in all merchandising standards including case presentation and storytelling.
Develop a basic understanding of all functionalities and processes in the shop, customer service department, and sales operations.
Attending and participating in all scheduled meetings of the store management team as requested, as well as meetings with the sales team.
Perform duties related to opening and closing the store.
Process clean and checks, write up shop jobs for sales, customer repairs, and warranty work, master Quality Control according to Shane Co. standards and participate in shop-related inventories.
The Sales Manager career track includes an innovative training program in which you will attain a high level of proficiency in sales, coaching, training, and store operations. We will provide you with the training you need to be able to demonstrate an in‑depth knowledge of our merchandise, represent our brand, and create an exceptional store experience for each and every customer.
A minimum of 2 years' experience managing, leading, developing, training, and/ or supervising others. Prior experience with jewelry sales is neither relevant nor required… we will teach you!
We are available to our customers when they need us so evening and weekend availability is a must. (Though unlike most retailers, we are closed on major holidays!)
Significant prior sales experience in a face‑to‑face environment is required.
Retail sales or hospitality industry experience preferred with the ability to present features and benefits of unique products.
Great ability to provide and receive feedback from peers, supervisors, and customers and adapt behavior with coaching.
Great listener… we need you to listen to each employee’s and customer’s needs.
Must possess a high level of visual acuity and manual dexterity.
Excellence in written and spoken English is required including appropriate usage of spelling and grammar; you will communicate with our customers and home office team members in writing as well as face to face. Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
The focus of this role is working with and through others, and building and maintaining relationships. Leading through example, championing company culture and values, and demonstrating personal character while staying organized are imperative. Ability to lead by example, build relationships, and be resourceful and proactive are characteristics that help our best Sales Managers succeed.
Reporting to the Store Manager, your role as the sales manager is to drive top‑line sales while supervising and directing the sales staff. The Sales Manager acts as a member of the store leadership team under our Store Manager and has influence on and responsibility for all aspects of sales, customer, and employee experience. Shane Co. serves our customers with an unparalleled standard of excellence. Your placement in the range is determined through interviews, a review of experience, knowledge, skills, balanced pay with other team members and alignment with geographic market data. While w e target most new hire offers toward the lower end of the listed range, more demonstrated sales experience, knowledge, and skills may result in a higher starting rate. Average performance will earn a moderate increase each year, while high performers can earn a very generous annual increase. Once you join us, we pay for performance and there is no ceiling to your base pay rate over time.
Participation in a team bonus that can range from zero to $150 each week for every member of the store team including the management team .
There is an o pportunity to earn an individual sales performance bonus based on your participation in both team and individual sales that bring the perfect item to our guests . This program is open to every role in store, though those with a primary job focused on sales are much more likely to achieve it.
Management team members have an opportunity for an additional quarterly bonus based on the year‑over‑year total store sales achieved by the whole team . Competitive medical, dental , and vision coverage.

Our work is done on‑site in our stores, and we work when others play. Though weekend and evening availability is required , we are closed when most retailers are open (with 7 paid holidays each year for most staff), and our hours are much more enjoyable than many retailers . (Monday to Wednesday 10 AM to 7 PM, Thursday to Friday, 10 AM to 8 PM, Saturday 10 to 6 and Sunday noon to 5 PM are our hours we are open to customers.) Whenever we can, we allow shift swaps as life requires.
We offer internal learning that covers both career and personal topics, from skills like excel to photography. We offer dedicated training specific to your role in our company.
We offer training toward advancement, specifically in the area of management and leadership for all levels .
While it is not necessary to be promoted here to be considered very successful, the majority of our management positions in our stores are filled from within and we are very proud to offer ongoing coaching and training towards that end.
