Buyer

The Buyer is responsible for placing and managing purchase orders for our Elmira Operations. This position monitors the purchasing process to assist multiple departments in providing timely and accurate product deliveries. The Buyer is also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure the continuous flow of materials for the production process.

Associates degree in Business, Operations Management, or Supply Chain or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook required.

A minimum of two years of experience in a supply chain role purchasing, planning, and/or scheduling is required. Utilize timelines, quantity requirements, and shipping methods to maintain efficient ordering procedures.

Experience with inventory planning, general purchasing practices, contract negotiations and supplier management.

Generate required reporting to monitor the purchasing process.

Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects.

Manage and resolve any purchase order issues that arise, document the necessary information.

Assist the department manager in managing overall supply chain operations, including material purchasing/planning, inventory management, vendor selection, and vendor relations.

Assist with special projects as requested.

Travel to be expected for this position will be up to 15%.
