We are seeking a driven and talented Mechanical Engineer II to join our growing engineering team. The role is based on-site in Lakewood, CO in a full-time capacity. You'll be responsible for design ideation, prototyping, validation testing, and production verification. Rapid Prototyping & Production: Leverage rapid prototyping methods (3D printing, in-house machining) alongside traditional manufacturing techniques to quickly test, iterate, and finalize production-ready designs.

Documentation & Detail: Create thorough fabrication drawings, BOMs (Bills of Materials), and assembly documentation while maintaining strict revision control.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers, software developers, and production teams to ensure seamless instrument integration and manufacturability (DFM/DFA).

Testing & Validation: Develop and execute test plans for vacuum integrity, thermal performance, and mechanical reliability.

Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with experience in optomechanical systems, UHV design practices, micro precision engineering, and using the metric system like a normal human being.

Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailed GD&T drawings. SolidWorks and PDM experience preferred.

Experience with Product Development Lifecycle, including R&D, prototyping, testing, and iterative design improvement.

Project Management skills to plan tasks, track progress, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.

Microsoft 365 proficiency including Word, OneNote, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerance analysis; experience in instrumentation or scientific equipment is a plus.
