JOB REQUIREMENTS

Board: BC in EM, FM, or IM with EM experience (ABEM preferred)
Licenses: Active Louisiana medical license, active LA DEA and CDS
DEA / CDS: Active DEA and CDS with Louisiana address
Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS (unless ABEM-certified)
Experience: Residency trained in EM, FM, or IM
Other Qualifications: CME and case logs from past 2 years required for credentialing

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide emergent and urgent medical care to patients presenting to the emergency department
Perform emergency procedures including intubation, central line placement, and moderate sedation
Supervise and collaborate with advanced practice providers (NP/PA) during shifts
Coordinate with backup specialists in cardiology, gastroenterology, oncology, podiatry, and surgery as needed
Document patient care accurately in Cerner Community Works EMR
