Be a Star at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts!

Hosts are responsible for greeting customers in a friendly manner and organizing table seating based on reservations. This is a great position for someone looking to get started in the hospitality field. Work is split between indoor and outdoor locations.

Located in downtown Tampa, the Straz offers flexible hours, event-based schedules including evenings and weekends, and a team-based work environment. Straz benefits for part-time staff include employee discounts and a 403(b) plan.

Welcome and greet arriving guests, seat guests at tables, ensure flow of operations, and acknowledge departing guests in a friendly manner.

Handle cash accurately.

Be ready and willing to assist servers as situations arise.

Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.

Ability to work with a schedule that may include nights, weekends, holidays.

Customer service skills and experience.

Education and Work Experience:

High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Prior experience as a Host in a full-service, high-volume restaurant preferred, but not required.
