Head of Operations & Business Management

The Operations Manager is responsible for meeting production goals, implementing process improvement activities & sophisticated Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma techniques to maximize profits, quality and on-time delivery within our Repair Center and New Production Line. This position reports directly to the PDS Director of Operations.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating employee performance and setting development goals; coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or employees.

Recommends suggestions to improve the quality of product being produced.

Environmental, health and safety compliance

Ensure requirements of customers are met, reducing costs and ensuring on-time delivery

Business, Engineering or related field

Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. or equivalent combination of training and experience

Having utilized education and experience making operational changes using advanced Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools

Ability to interact in a positive and professional manner and to develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, customers, co-workers, employees and management; the ability to respond promptly to needs and requests for service and assistance; Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy

Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of customers, company proprietary, and employee information

and identifying when issues should be referred to senior management

responding to management direction; Ability to take initiative, including asking for and offering help when needed; Delegates work assignments effectively, including matching the responsibility to the person, giving authority to work independently, setting expectations, monitoring delegated activities, and providing recognition for results

Ability to manage employees; includes staff in planning and decision-making; provides regular performance feedback; Supervisor of up to 40 direct labor hourly employees

The actual salary offered will be based on experience, skills, qualifications, market / business considerations, and geographic location.
