Mammographer - Radiology Mammography

Overview RAYUS Radiology is seeking a Mammography Technologist to join our team. You will operate assigned scanner(s) to produce diagnostic images, taking a patient-centered approach and providing excellent customer service. This is a casual/PRN position with a flexible schedule.

The pay range for this position is $30.00–$45.69 based on direct and relevant experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Screens patient before exam for precautions or contradictions, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.

Explains and prepares patients for Mammography imaging procedures, positions patients for proper imaging/scanning.

Performs routine and advanced Mammography imaging procedures on designated body portions for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illness or injury, with minimal supervision, and provides patient support during the procedure.

Adjusts Mammography scan parameters as needed, utilizing dose-reduction techniques where appropriate.

Follows physicians’ orders, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).

Maintains an orderly and clean work area and promotes safety for patients and team members.

Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.

Mammography Department Support

Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.

Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary.

Assists with training of new team members, providing resources and technical expertise as applicable.

Other Tasks

Completes other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.

Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography.

ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing.

Licensed Radiologic Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.

Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform mammography procedures independently.

Certification in imaging specialty.

Must have continuing CEUs in the modality as required by MQSA or state-specific rules.

Preferred

Bilingual.
