Unit Information:
The primary patient population includes cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery patients.
This includes open heart surgery such as CABG, AVR, MVR, and TAVR.
Thoracic lung surgeries like lobectomy and thoracotomy are also performed.
The unit has 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds with approximately 100 total staff members.
Staffing includes 1 charge RN and 13 RNs on both day and night shifts, along with patient care technicians.
The patient ratios are 1 RN to 5 patients and 1 patient care technician to 13 patients.
Typical equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various lifts.
Cerner is used for electronic medical records.
Candidates with prior CV surgery and vascular surgery experience will be considered first.

Weekend requirements include a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period.
Candidates should be flexible to work holidays.
