Nursing requires training and or licensed to care for patients.To provide patient/family driven care, the Registered Nurse, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, will deliver treatment with an emphasis on assessment, education, prevention, maintenance, and restoration of health and when indicated end of life comfort care in a supportive and culturally sensitive manner.**Responsibilities*** Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.* Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.* Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; following company and nursing division's philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, Oncology Nursing Society and other governing agency regulations.* Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with policies, procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from health care support personnel when necessary.* Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, safe medication administration, mixing, and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.* Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.* Maintains continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.* Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.* Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.* Maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.* establishing personal networks; Maintains a respectful cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; building rapport; Qualifications*** Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with a diploma, Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.* Passed the NCLEX\_RN* Licensed by the state.* Willing to float amongst all San Diego offices, if necessary**Location**cCARE Cancer Center: La Jolla9850 Genesee Avenue, Suite 560 La Jolla, CA 92037**Anticipated hourly range:** $50.00 per hour - $58.00 per hour**Bonus eligible:** No**Benefits:** Cardinal Health offers a wide variety of benefits and programs to support health and well-being.* Medical, dental and vision coverage* Paid time off plan* Health savings account (HSA)* 401k savings plan* Access to wages before pay day with myFlexPay* Flexible spending accounts (FSAs)* Short- and long-term disability coverage* Work-Life resources* Paid parental leave* Healthy lifestyle programs**Application window anticipated to close:** 8/5/2026 \*if interested in opportunity, please submit application as soon as possible.The hourly range listed is an estimate.
