Human Resources Manager

Employment Type: Contract to Hire

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to support a mission-driven nonprofit organization in the Atlanta area. This role will partner closely with senior leadership to provide strategic HR guidance while managing the day-to-day execution of core human resources functions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional with strong employee relations experience, a solid understanding of payroll administration, and expertise in employment law and compliance.

Serve as a trusted HR partner to leadership, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning.
Lead employee relations efforts, including conflict resolution, investigations, coaching, and resolution of workplace issues.
Administer and maintain employee handbook policies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws while recommending policy updates as needed.
Oversee payroll processing, preferably using ADP , ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
Manage wage garnishments and other payroll-related compliance requirements.
Support full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
Ensure compliance with employment laws, HR best practices, and organizational policies.
Partner with leadership to develop and implement HR initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, and organizational culture.
Maintain accurate HR records and support audits, reporting, and compliance activities.
Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee performance, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation.
5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including experience as an HR Manager or Senior HR Generalist.
Demonstrated expertise in employee relations , including conflict resolution and workplace investigations.
Experience developing, interpreting, and administering employee handbook policies.
Payroll administration experience required; Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance.
Human Resources experience within a nonprofit organization is a plus, but not required.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
