BUYER I - PURCHASING & WAREHOUSING

Responsibilities

Perform analytical, operational, and administrative tasks in support of Managers, Analysts, and Buyers involved in the purchase or acquisition of goods, assets, processes, patents, copyrights, or possession of other services.

Monitor the employer's inventory and ensure stores or warehouses are fully stocked.

Conduct detailed research for buyers to enable them to make informed decisions, assess market trends, and conduct cost‑benefit analysis of potential vendors.

Attend vendor meetings, take meeting notes, and provide supplemental comments as the Buyer leads the negotiation process.

Verify specifications of purchase requests, prepare purchase orders, place orders with vendors, and complete the corresponding paperwork.

Acquire orders, examine goods and other materials, and return any damaged material to the vendor.

Prepare and maintain purchasing and payment records, keep receipts for future reference, and provide accurate spending figures to the Finance Department.

Monitor market trends and advise management on proper pricing strategy.

Qualifications

2-3 years of purchasing experience – Preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Advanced Excel experience – Preferred

Ability to take initiative and work independently

High school diploma or GED

Shift & Hours

Monday – Friday; 8 am to 5 pm.

Compensation

Starting rate of pay: $23.00 per hour, depending on experience.
