Thunkable is on a mission to democratize app development and empower everyone to build without writing a single line of code. Our platform enables anyone to build and publish their own iOS and Android apps for free. Today, non‑engineers use Thunkable to prototype and share new ideas, develop proof‑of‑concepts for their own digital business, and design and ship their own ad‑supported and premium apps. Thunkable was incubated at Google Research and MIT and is backed by Lightspeed, NEA, SV Angel, Zhenfund, and Y‑Combinator. You’ll find teammates with deep pride in what they do and a customer‑obsessiveness that is furthered by regular feedback cycles.
As Engineering Manager, you will lead the development effort on the Thunkable platform, including:
Scoping, prioritizing, and leading development projects.
Managing engineering schedules, workloads, and performance.
Recruiting, interviewing, and mentoring engineering talent.
Assessing technical risk and establishing best practices.
Improving team performance through mentorship and feedback.
We’re looking for a strong, proven manager with 2+ years of experience managing highly technical teams and running complex projects, as well as a deep passion for software impact.
Care deeply about software and its impact, and use past experience to guide the team.
Hungry to learn about customers and clients.
Promoted diversity of thought and background, tying it to successful product launches.
Bonus
Familiarity in the no‑code PaaS space, mobile app development, and startup fields.
Built an app on Thunkable.
Can overlap GMT +1 and PST timezones throughout your workday.
