Project Manager – DSA Construction ($50M+ Projects) Location: Bay Area, CA Employment Type: Full-Time | Onsite Project Type: K-12, Community College, and Higher Education Construction Position Overview A leading California general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee large-scale DSA-regulated projects valued at $50M+ throughout the Bay Area. This role will lead all aspects of project execution from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring successful delivery while maintaining compliance with DSA requirements, budget objectives, and schedule commitments. The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing complex K-12 or higher education projects and is comfortable serving as the primary liaison between owners, school districts, design teams, and field operations. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Execution Manage all phases of DSA-regulated construction projects ranging from $50M to $150M+. Lead project teams including Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and Superintendents. Develop project execution plans and oversee procurement, subcontractor management, and project controls. Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. DSA Compliance & Public Works Oversight Ensure compliance with California Division of the State Architect requirements and California public works regulations. Manage DSA inspections, documentation, closeout requirements, and agency coordination. Oversee project reporting and compliance with district standards and contract requirements. Financial Management Maintain responsibility for project budgets, forecasting, cost reporting, and profitability. Lead change order pricing, negotiations, and contract administration. Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain financial performance. Client & Stakeholder Management Serve as the primary point of contact for school districts, facilities departments, architects, consultants, and owner representatives. Lead OAC meetings and executive-level project reporting. Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business opportunities. Preconstruction & Strategic Planning Participate in budgeting, value engineering, constructability reviews, and GMP development. Collaborate with preconstruction and operations teams to ensure successful project startup and execution. Qualifications 8+ years of project management experience with a general contractor. Proven experience managing DSA-regulated projects valued at $50M+ . Strong background in K-12, community college, or higher education construction. Extensive knowledge of DSA requirements, public works contracting, and California construction regulations. Experience managing large project teams and multiple stakeholders. Strong financial management, leadership, and communication skills. Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite . Preferred Qualifications Experience with projects exceeding $100M. Existing relationships with Bay Area school districts, community college districts, or educational institutions. Design-build or CM-at-Risk experience. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. #J-18808-Ljbffr
