Bakery Prep Position

Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Sous Chef, the Prep Cook is responsible for ingredient preparation and production support to ensure efficient daily kitchen operations.
Food Preparation
Wash, peel, chop, slice, portion, and prepare ingredients.
Prepare sauces, dressings, soups, stocks, and other foundational recipes.
Assist with bakery and dessert preparation as needed.
Production Support
Set up prep stations and organize ingredients.
Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
Sanitation
Maintain clean prep areas and equipment.
Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in hot, cold, and fast‑paced kitchen environments.
Ability to perform repetitive motions and operate commercial kitchen equipment safely.
Qualifications
California Food Handler Card required.
Culinary training or kitchen experience preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement contributions, professional development opportunities, and tuition remission benefits.
Salary range: $20/hr–$26/hr annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
While being vaccinated for COVID-19 is not required, it is strongly recommended.
