Successful completion of a recognized plumber apprenticeship program or five (5) years (60 months) of full-time journey- level plumber experience.

Capable of planning work based on status of request.

Experience in maintenance of drainage, waste, vent, potable water supply and fixtures, etc.

Must be able to work underground, in ceilings and in confined spaces and be able to maneuver and carry equipment to those locations.

Visual acuity to differentiate between color-coded piping.

Work Environment – Usually in and out of heated and protected areas; but, occasionally exposed to heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions.

No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. At the time of a permanent vacancy, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview.
