Senior Attorney - Immediate HIRE

Responsibilities
Alexis M. Farley & Associates, insurance staff counsel for State Farm Insurance Companies, is seeking an Attorney to join their expanding Tempe Claim Litigation office. The role involves case ownership from inception to conclusion, participating in litigation events, and meeting with clients. It is a hybrid role requiring time in the office and virtually, Monday-Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm. Hours and travel requirements are listed below.

LOCATION: 1501 West Fountainhead, Suite 390, Tempe, Arizona, 85282

Handle litigation and other legal assignments in accordance with guidelines established by the Law Department

Prepare and summarize reports for proceedings

Develop trial strategy and case development

Attend litigation events including trials, mediations, depositions, and hearings

Additional Details

Applicants must be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately. State Farm will not sponsor applicants.

State Farm attorneys may not handle legal business outside of State Farm or engage in outside practice after joining.

Travel via personal or commercial transportation to job-related activities is an essential function.

Irregular hours may be required.

Qualifications
Previous Experience required:

7+ years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense; open to all litigation practice areas.

Bench and jury trial experience required.

Key skills required:

Knowledge of local and state discovery rules, trial procedures, and substantive law commensurate with level of experience.

Experience in trial, mediation, and deposition.

File ownership.

Effective written and oral communication skills.

Technology/software experience required:

Ability to work efficiently with cases in electronic form.

Working knowledge of a Case Management system.

Working knowledge of a Document Storage system.

Education requirements including licenses and certifications:

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials; active member in good standing of the bar in the state of operation.

Active law license to practice in the state of operation and a member in good standing with the State Bar of Arizona.

Potential starting salary range: $164,000.00 - $180,000.00 (based on skills, background, and experience; high end limited to applicants with significant relevant experience).

Potential yearly incentive pay up to 24% of base salary.
