Head of Internal Communications

The Comms Team is responsible for conveying Snap’s mission, vision and values to core audiences within our community, which include Snapchatters, Spectacles users, creators, developers, advertising partners, content partners, investors, policymakers, and Snap team members. This passionate team works hard to show the world what makes Snapchat, SPECS, and Lens Studio powerful platforms for communication, storytelling, and augmented reality innovation, and to ensure the narratives about the company, its people, and its products are accurate and compelling.
We’re looking for a Communications Manager to join our Communications Team in Los Angeles!
Develop and lead proactive communications and storytelling for Snapchat including in-app products and features, monetization programs, platform tools, and initiatives designed to support creator growth and long-term success.
Translate complex product updates, platform changes, and monetization programs into clear, compelling messaging for media, creators, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Support communications across content and partnerships including sports, music, and more; Develop communications strategies around major cultural and industry moments, including entertainment and sports tentpoles, creator activations, partnerships, and Snap-led initiatives.
Draft clear, compelling communications materials including Newsroom posts, messaging documents, FAQs, reactive talking points, briefing materials, media pitches, and other external and internal communications.
Identify emerging trends across the creator economy, entertainment, sports, social platforms, and digital culture, using those insights to inform proactive communications opportunities and strengthen Snapchat’s cultural relevance.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across Product, Creator Partnerships, Content, Marketing, Legal, Policy, and other teams to develop coordinated communications strategies for launches, programs, partnerships, and platform changes.
Work across the Communications team to measure impact, track coverage and sentiment, and refine strategies based on performance and insights.
Strong relationships with reporters across the creator economy, technology, consumer, business, entertainment, sports, and culture, with a demonstrated ability to develop proactive stories and manage complex platform narratives.
Strong understanding of the creator and digital content ecosystem, including evolving creator business models, monetization, platform dynamics, and cultural trends.
Demonstrated experience developing communications strategies for consumer technology products, platforms, or features, including the ability to make complicated product and business concepts accessible to broad audiences.
Ability to move fluidly between proactive storytelling, product launches, partnerships, and reactive communications in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong editorial judgment, and fastidious attention to detail.
Strong cross-functional relationship-building skills, including experience working with Product, Partnerships, Marketing, Legal, Policy, and senior leadership.
Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously and operate effectively amid evolving priorities and tight deadlines.
Experience partnering with global communications teams on coordinated campaigns and announcements.
Experience working with and effectively managing external communications agency partners is preferred.
8+ years of professional experience in communications, public relations, product communications, or a related field, preferably within consumer technology, social platforms, the creator economy, media, or entertainment.
