Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse-Surgery

Outpatient Oncology RN – Oncology
Schedule: Primarily 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday; shift start/end times may vary. No weekends required.
Requirements:
Active California RN license required at time of submission.
Minimum of 2 years of outpatient oncology experience required.
First-time travelers accepted only with 3 years of outpatient oncology experience.
Required certification: BLS.
Preferred certifications: OCN or ONS/ONCC (chemo certification preferred).
GI chemo regimen experience highly preferred.
Charting system experience required.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Provide outpatient oncology care and patient/family education regarding chemotherapy, surgery, BMT/CAR T.
Administer and monitor chemotherapy treatments, including continuous infusions and CADD pumps.
Perform port/PAS-port access and troubleshooting; manage central line care.
Handle management of extravasation, nausea/vomiting, neuropathy, and infusion reactions.
Administer IV blood/blood products and conduct telephone triage.
Compliance / Notes:
Pre-approved time off limited to two days for the first two weeks.
Orientation consists of 40 hours.
Two supervisor references from within the past 12 months required at submission.
Any background/legal issues must be accompanied by a detailed statement.
