Travel RN – Cardiac Surgery Intermediate / Step Down (Nights)

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Night Shift (19:00–07:00) | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for cardiac/thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, respiratory distress, alcohol withdrawal, and insulin drip patients
Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
Operate and manage specialized equipment including Philips monitors, chest tubes, arterial lines, wound vacs, pacer boxes, pacing wires, EKOS, Nicom, BiPAP, and Airvo
Float on a rotational basis to critical care cluster or med/surg as needed
Maintain patient rights and confidentiality in accordance with applicable nursing practice standards
Function within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the Missouri Nurse Practice Act
Required Qualifications
Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold Missouri licensure
BLS certification from AHA required
ACLS certification from AHA required
Minimum 1 year of inpatient Step Down/PCU experience
Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for assignments running November 1 through April 1 (declinations are not accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with cardiac and thoracic surgery patient populations
Proficiency with EPIC EMR
Familiarity with patient ratios of 3:1 or 4:1 in a step down or PCU environment
Team-oriented approach with strong communication and collaboration skills
