Head of Strategy (Remote)

This position is responsible for the development and management of strategic priorities, planning, investments, and road maps. This role will work to generate a clear understanding of and alignment surrounding key initiatives, to include their priority across the individual customer segment and enterprise. This position will work collaboratively across the segment, enterprise, and industry to identify areas of opportunity, based on customer need, and work to develop strategies and tactics to monetize differentiated customer focused solutions. It is essential that this role works across critical functions like product owners, individual segment leaders, customer experience, technology, finance, marketing and human resources to ensure that operationalization of initiatives aligns to customer need and individual segment goals.
Strategic Planning & Execution
Collaborate with segment leadership to identify growth opportunities, including market expansion, product innovation, digital initiatives, and customer acquisition strategies.
Translate broad strategic objectives into actionable implementation plans with clear metrics, timelines, and accountability measures.
Support strategic planning reviews and provide ongoing strategic guidance to segment leadership.
Partner with functional areas including Marketing, Technology, Operations, Risk, and Finance to ensure strategic alignment and integrated execution.
Facilitate collaboration across product lines within the Individual Segment (retail banking, consumer lending, small business, etc.) Market & Competitive Intelligence: Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer insights to inform strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for competitive advantage.
Identify critical performance gaps and partner with leaders to prioritize improvements.
Innovation & Emerging Trends: Monitor industry innovations, emerging technologies, and changing customer behaviors to ensure the segment remains forward-thinking and customer centric.
Create presentations, business cases, and strategic briefings for leadership reviews and decision-making forums.
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in financial services, with at least 5 years in strategy or related roles.
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field preferred.
Proven success in developing and executing multi-year strategic plans within retail banking or consumer financial services.
Deep understanding of banking products, competitive landscape, and financial markets with strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
Exceptional project management abilities with skill in managing multiple priorities and attention to detail.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and business intelligence platforms to drive insights.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations.

Strategic mindset balanced with practical execution focus and strong business judgment from a customer‑centric perspective.
Adaptability in making decisions with incomplete information and shifting priorities while maintaining focus on results.
It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing in-person collaboration three days a week with remote flexibility two days a week. As part of our team, you’ll experience the energy and relationship-building of face‑to‑face collaboration while still enjoying the flexibility of remote workdays. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.
