Brief Job Description
Provides advanced administrative support and technical assistance for Regional Administrative Services, including scheduling, correspondence oversight, travel coordination, and supervising staff. The role exercises significant independent judgment and manages advanced administrative activities that support the agency’s goals.
Essential Job Functions
Perform advanced technical/support work, disseminate agency program information, and execute administrative duties for RAS (25%).
Coordinate advanced correspondence, reports, studies, and forms; coordinate work across agency units and external partners; schedule and manage meetings, conferences, and travel for the Regional Management team; serve as RAS Corporate Billing Account lead (25%).
Compile and analyze data, prepare reports, develop training materials, assist in program planning, and provide backup to departmental staff (20%).
Manage telephone calls, assist visitors, and respond to inquiries regarding programs and regulations (15%).
Maintain files and records, safeguard confidential material, and develop policies and procedures (15%).
Registrations, Licensure Requirements Or Certifications
Valid Class C Texas Driver's License.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Knowledge of office management principles, practices, and administrative procedures.
Skill in the use of standard agency computer hardware and software such as Microsoft Office Suite.
Skill in problem solving and decision-making.
Skill in effective oral and written communication.
Ability to manage a variety of advanced assignments.
Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines and produce quality deliverables with a sense of urgency.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, peers, management, and external contacts.
Ability to implement new control systems and procedures and to evaluate their effectiveness.
Initial Screening Criteria
High School diploma or GED.
Knowledge of office management principles, practices, and administrative procedures.
Skill in the use of electronic office equipment including computer systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing as demonstrated in the application.
Ability to manage a variety of advanced assignments.
Additional Information
May assist with emergency/disaster situations throughout the state which may include overnight travel.
Salary will be based on HHSC salary guidelines. Current and former HHSC employees may receive a higher salary than the base range.
