Hourly / Part-time Commercial Litigation Attorney

Location: Must live close to one of the following office locations: San Diego, Irvine, Downtown Los Angeles, Ontario, Carlsbad, or Oxnard
Pay: Up to $80 per hour
Job Type: Contract or Contract-to-Hire, Part-Time or Full-Time, Remote (Will need to come in for the occasional meeting)
LHH is working with a large national firm seeking a skilled Commercial Litigation / General Liability Attorney with a minimum of 2 years of experience to assist with a diverse caseload on a flexible, remote basis. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys who value work-life balance while continuing to work on substantive matters. The role may transition into a permanent position for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle all phases of litigation from inception through resolution
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal memoranda
Conduct legal research and provide strategic case assessments
Take and defend depositions
Participate in court appearances, settlement conferences, and mediations
Communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel
Maintain organized case files and meet deadlines independently
Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active and in good standing with the California State Bar
Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial litigation and/or general liability
Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases
Reliable internet connection and ability to work remotely
Must be available to attend occasional in-person meetings
