We are seeking a strong Senior Estimator with experience in the Heavy Highway / Heavy Civil industry with a focus and project costs, approach to means and methods and innovative ideas for winning bids. This is a great opportunity for a project manager or a project engineer to transition into the estimating or pricing field, empowering them to leverage their past expertise in pursuing high-ranking proposals for the organization.
Thoroughly review and understand the project specifications and drawings.
Produce accurate take-offs and pricing of Heavy Highway / Heavy Civil components.
Complete cost estimates on project from $10M to $100M price range.
Solicit subcontractors and vendors for quotations.
Prepare/analyze equipment utilization schedule.
Update databases with labor rates, vendor plug values and equipment rates.
Complete cost estimates for assigned scopes of work on larger projects.
Provide mentoring for younger estimators.
Manage small group of assisting estimators.
Exhibit good communication skills with internal staff, subcontractors, vendors, client representation, etc. Participate in Joint Venture estimates.
Identify risks and opportunities for projects.
Coordinate quantity and cost comparison with Joint Venture Partners.
Technical training and /or related experience
~ Advanced math and computer skills

7-10 years working in the field of Heavy Highway / Heavy Civil projects

• HCSS Heavy Bid, Microsoft products, Bluebeam, Smart Bid, Teams, Share Point, CADD, Viewpoint Vista & P6
• Experience estimating all types of projects/contracts
