Please visit our website at for more information.The right candidate will oversee and coordinate all division legal matters, with an emphasis on land acquisition.Provide legal advice related to land acquisition, land use, entitlement, zoning, and development, including reviewing and drafting contracts, title and land development documents, and other related documents; consulting with and coordinating with outside counselPrimary focus on drafting of land purchase contracts and related legal negotiations with seller’s counsel. assist Division in the internal contract approval process.Assist with title and land development documents, as well as other related documents; consulting with and coordinating with outside counselReview and revise homebuyer contract documents; advise regarding RESPA issues, FHA/VA compliance and other home sale issuesReview and revise homeowner association documents and provide advice on homeowner association issues. Review marketing contract and programs; draft documentation as necessaryAssist in managing division litigation, including coordination with outside counsel regarding active and potential litigation matters; the provision of documents and information pertinent to active or potential litigation; attendance at hearings, settlement conferences, and related proceedingsAssist and advise the Division Human Resources Manager with manager training regarding employment policies and practicesAssist and advise the Division Human Resources Manager regarding safety programs, the review and revision of manual and written policies, and safety issues including OSHAReview and revise subcontractor contract documents, handle disputesProvide advice regarding employment matters and issuesProvide advice regarding legal issues in construction and warrantyHandle customer disputes; coordinate with outside counsel as necessaryProvide advice regarding various other division mattersAssist in drafting job descriptionsConducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the companySupervisory ResponsibilitiesMay have supervisory responsibilitiesQualificationsEducation and/or ExperienceJuris Doctor Degree (J.Five to seven years of experience and/or trainingMust be a licensed attorney and in good standing with state bar association(s) of which you are a memberAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applicationsProficiency with MS Office and emailAbility to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral visionThe noise level is generally moderatePreferred QualificationsPrior experience in corporate or environmental lawStrong communication skillsAbility to multi-task and attention to detailCome join a winning team with a Fortune 500 company!
