Temporary Machinist

At OTC, being a Machinist means more than fixing equipment-it's about growing, earning, and building your future. Competitive Pay: This position offers an hourly wage starting at $23/hr +, depending on experience and qualifications.

Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, machines and materials onto machines

Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers or grinders

Measure, examine and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments

Set controls to regulate machining, or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media

Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on shop equipment

Continued education and training to meet the needs of an evolving service industry.

Capable of working independently with little to no supervision.

High school diploma or GED required; Experience using precision measuring tools and equipment

• Industrial shop environment with exposure to noise, heavy equipment, and cutting fluids
• Availability to work shifts outside of normal work schedule, including required OT on weekends and holidays.
• Proficient computer skills (MS Office; Outlook, Excel and Word) and ability to operate windows-based programs from a tablet, computer, or smartphone.
